Hi everyone,
I have a beautiful blue and gold macaw for sale, his name is Caper. Caper is 2 years old and comes with everything you need. Large cage, all his toys (lots) All food and snacks, travel crate, over 20 training dvd's, and more. My 3 year old daughter has become nervous of caper so he is not getting the attention he needs. Caper loves to talk, he likes to shower, knows how to step up, and is used to other animals (dog, cat). She will take a few weeks to get used to a new owner but will make a life long friend. I live in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia which is a 5 hour drive from halifax. Im only asking 1000.00 dollars for Caper and everything that comes with him so I can find him a truly loving home.
Here is a video of him on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIPYncgnV4A
We are looking for GOOD, knowledgeable home for our cockatoo because she deserves more attention that we can provide to her. She is a friendly and tame Sulphur-crested Cockatoo. She was hand-fed and raised in a small family pet store until the family lost the business and re-homed her with us at about seven years old.

Although we refer to her as a "she" she has not been sexed. She is very sweet and loves to be petted and scratched under her wings and around her neck. She is intelligent and affectionate and can speak a few words and phrases such as Buddy, birdy, "What are you doing" hello and more. She also barks and meows. She will even "dance" and enjoys being the centre of attention. She is approximately 17 years old and healthy. She not an overly loud bird and scream excessively.

If you do know of anyone who would be interested, she will come with a supply of food, her toys, a "travel cage" and her large floor cage. We live in Pictou County, and can deliver. We are asking $1000.

Parrot Rescue - Spike

Spike is still very quiet and does not come out of her cage. she cannot see properly and is quite crippled so that is why. She spends most of her days on a platform perch which I have found she prefers to a regular perch. She lives alone now by choice, away from the bird rooms. she has a nice sunny spot near the window, enjoys her food, tolerates a misting once in a while. Other wise is very quiet and no problem at all.
Sadly I lost 2 tiels this winter. Old Nibbles from old age, and a young whiteface, Pogge. The young boy was not healthy when I got him and was very nervous. I tried to build him up and nourish him and he lived for 2 more years. Sad to pass so young. That is the worst thing about rescues...sometimes no matter what you do , you can't save them :'(

General Board - Anybody home?

Was locked out of here for a while for some reason...Joe fixed....thanks Joe! Since last posting I found a fantastic home for my young Blue Crown. I guess all the other failed deals were for a reason as this couple is perfect.
You all might remember Zorro, my little black masked nanday conure boarder. He went to a good home but sadly, due to a cat, it did not work out, so he is coming back tomorrow. His original owner had to give him up as she had a set of twins that he was jealous of. I will continue to look for a home where he can be # 1 as that is what he is used to. he has to share my time here which is hard on him. He is a lovely boy. Luckily summer is coming and the cockatiels and budgies all go out into the outdoor aviary for a few months so I have room for him. I have also been trying to help rehome another blue crown for a lady in Toronto. Something always works out if we are patient enough :)

Hiya Birdgranna
Always hard to find "good" homes for fids. They are exceptional creatures that need more than a pat on the head and a bowl of food. And, yes, people have seriously unreal expectations of birds. My three are still going strong. It is that time of year for Opal to chew all her feathers off.....yikes. Also for Jasper to self satisfy on the big bead on his swing....heavy sigh....but at least he takes care of business himself and is not as grouchy as the other two. I hate breeding season, lol, followed by molting season. Poor fids don't know what to do with themselves. There does not seem to be many people here in Pictou county with birds, that I know of, so finding food and bird services is really hard. My vet is almost an hour away. Scary...yes. I remember poor Quinn. Pretty much the same story as my little Kiwi. Always keep him as he will be safe and loved with you. Just as Claddy, don't touch him, don't mess with his cage and don't get within striking distance, not exactly a loveable kind of guy but I know he is safe here and relatively content so he will be here forever. My fids are my kids so I will never be an empty nester. ;D
